Visiting Dilli

If you're new to Delhi and have some time to kill, use this page for ideas on what to do (and eat!) around here, and other important stuff you should know before you arrive.

Must-Visit Places

🏛️Historical Sites

  • Humayun's Tomb - Beautiful Mughal architecture and tranquil garden
  • Qutub Minar - Well-preserved ruins and towering minaret steeped in history
  • Purana Quila - One of Delhi's oldest forts. Try to attend the sound and light show in the evening.
  • India Gate - Iconic Delhi landmark. Go for an evening stroll and have an ice cream (yes, in December!)
  • Safdarjung's Tomb - Quieter / less crowded option to Humayun's tomb (which is arguably prettier)

🛕Culture

  • Akshardham Temple - Sprawling temple complex at the border of Delhi and Noida - very pretty, very clean
  • Chandni Chowk - If you're feeling particularly adventurous and want to experience old Delhi's lively markets and street food
  • Dilli Haat - Go for the food and handicrafts. Try the Sikkim food stall.
  • Hauz Khas - Gorgeous views and nice cafes
  • Lotus Temple - See the unique Bahá'í house of worship
